Writing

Words are to the writer what a paintbrush is to the artist. And yet, the writer needs to evoke more emotion than a painting can. Artwork may be interpreted differently by each viewer, while the words of a story must illustrate the picture the writer wants the reader to see. The right combination of words; verbs that convey actions, adjectives that describe details, and nouns that tell who, what and when, can take the reader to new places, different times and unusual experiences. The words and ideas of a writer can be the inspiration of another's imagination. ~ 2003
